The Umbrella Company History
Founded on April Fool’s day in 2000 (sometimes we think this is quite ironic!)
The Umbrella Company was founded by Shawn Hassack, formerly a Director and share holder at Creative Contracts, to specialise in the supply of umbrellas to the promotional distributor, never going direct to an "end user".
The Umbrella Company ethos was simple
Distributors sell the umbrellas - We do our upmost to ensure we make goods to high a standard and get them delivered on time – Happy end user – Distributor gets more business – We get more business, and the process continues uninterrupted ....simple, just the way we like things.
If this happy process is interrupted, we do everything in our power to get things back on track as quickly and easily as possible for all concerned - so we can all get back to the GET MORE BUSINESS stage.
And so with this simple business plan The Umbrella Company has gone from strength to strength. We are now the largest promotional umbrella manufacturer in the country, we employ 60 staff in our large factory in Sheffield (pop in and see us if your ever near) we service every catalogue group in the industry and have won an award from each one at some point, as well as awards from the major industry bodies such as Promota (supplier of the year), Trade Only, Sourcing City, BPMA.
We are constantly investing resources to keep ahead and ensure that being the biggest doesn’t mean we lose touch – we are proud to be credited with ISO 9001 and we have an active "innovations process" which as you read this will be looking at what we hope will be the next new thing that every end user wants.
We look forward to being around for many more years to come, servicing an industry that we love.
